What you need to install CPMA
1. Essential Files
- pak0.pk3 (you should really buy the game though)
- Quake ]|[ Arena Point Release 1.32
- CPMA 1.48
- Challenge Quake 3 1.46 (Mirror 2 + Linux files)

This guide assumes you downloaded all of the above files
- Create a new directory where you want Q3 installed and inside it create
/baseq3/directory where you putpak0.pk3
C:\Quake III Arena\baseq3\pak0.pk3 - Run
Point Release 1.32and direct it to your Q3 directory - Put
/cpma/directory in your Q3 one - Put
z-cpma-pak148.pk3inQuake III Arena/cpma/
Note: some servers might not allow it, just rename it or move out of /cpma/ directory if you want to downgrade CPMA - Put all maps that you have inside
/baseq3/directory - Create
q3key(no extension) file in your/baseq3/directory and enter your CD Key there - Put config files in
/cpma/cfg/
Note: whenever you apply some changes in-game, use/writeconfig q3configcommand to make sure they’re saved - Optional: create
autoexec.cfgin/cpma/with the following content:
exec cfg/default.cfg
7. Additional Notes
For Challenge Quake 3 1.46 (cnq3.exe) users:
sensitivityhas been renamed tom_speed- Changing resolution:
r_mode 0- resolution and color depth are the same as desktopr_mode 1- custom to be set withr_width&r_height
